An email was sent out to you from the Association of Yale Alumni
(AYA) in early May about establishing a Yale AYA email address,
which will continue as your lifetime Yale email address, and can
be pointed to your work email address or some other account. If

SOM Online Alumni Directory (OAD)
The SOM
Online Alumni Directory (OAD) is the same directory that you
used as a student at SOM to network with alumni. It lists only SOM
alumni, and makes it easy to find classmates and other SOM alumni
by name, class year, title, employer, and other business-related
information. Your Net ID and password will continue to function
for the SOM OAD. If you have questions, please email yalesom@som.yale.edu.
Yale University Online Alumni Directory (AYA)
The
Yale University Online Alumni Directory (AYA) contains degree
and contact information for alumni from all schools at Yale University.
Please note this is a different system run by Yale University. Information
regarding the AYA directory was sent in an email to all Class of
2007 students. If you have questions about accessing the Yale University
Online Alumni Directory, please contact the AYA Customer Service
Helpline at aya@yale.edu or 203-432-1907.
2. ONLINE CLASS NOTES
With Online
Class Notes, classmates can share news and stay in touch with
one another by posting notes, including photos, at any time. Your
Net ID and password that you used while at SOM will continue to
function for Online Class Notes.

that you should keep an eye out for starting in September.
Yale Alumni Magazine
All graduates residing in the U.S. receive a free ‘professional
schools’ hard copy edition of the Yale
Alumni Magazine – the oldest independent alumni
magazine in America.

SOM
Alumni Regional Chapters are run by dedicated alumni volunteers
and are supported by the Office
of Alumni Relations and the SOM
Alumni Association. The chapters host a wide variety of events,
including professional career events, lectures by SOM professors,
elegant galas and backyard barbecues. The chapters also assist with
alumni support of admissions and career development.

7. UPDATE FROM THE CAREER DEVELOPMENT
OFFICE
For those engaged in an active job search, you may
be pleased to learn that all CDO resources – job postings, one-on-one
counseling, online databases, etc. – will remain available to you
through August 31. Please continue to take full advantage of our
services by keeping in contact with us throughout the summer!
After August 31, the CDO will view you as alumni; as such, we will
transition you from Career Center and authorize you to view open
positions on the SOM alumni job posting board (http://alumni.som.yale.edu/jobpostings/alumnistart.htm).
Alumni Career Services
As you may know, Christopher Young (christopher.young@yale.edu)
is the CDO’s Associate Director of Alumni Career Services, and provides
SOM alumni with complimentary career counseling and recruitment
services. Among the many offerings are:
• Career Coaching: Individualized meetings that
can include assistance with resumes, cover letters, job search strategy,
company research, salary negotiations and working with executive
recruiters.
• Alumni Career Services Web Site: This website
features a wealth of career-related resources (http://mba.yale.edu/alumni/career_resources).
• Alumni Job Postings: SOM exclusive job posting
system featuring hundreds of opportunities posted by a wide cross-section
of employers and search firms.
• Alumni Career Events: Presentations, networking
receptions and one-on-one meetings are available in Boston, New
York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and other metropolitan
areas with large SOM alumni populations.
Loan Repayment
Stafford loans that have not
been consolidated: The grace period is 6 months. You will be contacted
directly by your lender about repayment shortly before the grace
period ends.
Stafford loans that have
been consolidated: Repayment begins in June, 2007. You should already
have been contacted by your lender about loans that you consolidated
last year.
Perkins loans:
The grace period is 9 months, unless the loan has been consolidated.
If you consolidated Perkins loans in 2004-05, repayment begins in
June.
GATE Y-Loans:
The grace period is 6 months. All correspondence relating to the
GATE Y-Loan will be sent to you directly by American Education Services
(AES) in Harrisburg, PA. If you have any questions call AES at 800-233-0557.
Private loans:
The grace period varies based on the lender’s policies, and may
be 6 or 9 months.
Financial Difficulties & Delaying Payment
If you experience financial difficulties, both federal and private
loans offer options for delaying repayment or reducing the amount
of your monthly loan payment. You can seek these options either
before beginning repayment or at any time during repayment. Contact
your lender for information.
Summer Hours
SOM offices will be open M-F 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Mailroom will be open M-F 9.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
SOM Campus Access
Your ID card will continue to give you 24/7 building access through
Saturday, June 30.
Clear Your Locker
Lockers are cleaned and reassigned during the summer. Please empty
your locker by June 30. Items left in lockers beyond this date will
be discarded or recycled without further notice.
Remove Your Bicyle
Remember to remove your bicycle from bike racks in Beinecke Courtyard
or elsewhere on campus by June 30. Bikes that cannot be identified
will be removed by Security.
Address Changes and Mail Forwarding
1. Please do not have personal mail, packages,
or overnight deliveries sent to SOM after May 25.
2. Before you leave town, be sure to stop by the
Office of Student Affairs to complete a “Stay Connected – Stay Involved”
card. Based on the information you provide on this card, the Hub
will forward 1st class mail on a weekly basis through June 30 to
U.S. addresses (we are unable to forward mail overseas). 1st class
mail received at SOM after June 30 will be returned to sender. Magazines,
newspapers, and other items cannot be forwarded. If you expect to
be in New Haven after June 30, consider renting a secure personal
PO Box at the Yale Station Post Office (206 Elm Street, New Haven,
CT). The cost is $41/year. Access is 24/7.
3. 7-10 days before you move, file a Change of
Address form with the U.S. Postal Service to have your mail re-directed
to your new address. Forms are available in the Hub, at any Post
Office, and online at http://www.usps.com/
.
Yale Health Plan primary care and YHP specialty/hospitalization
insurance coverage continue through August 31, 2006; the coverage
was included in your spring semester health fee. Available at the
front desk of the Health Plan are "alternate coversheets",
which are short-term health insurance options.

insurance past August 31.

Your Own Health Insurance. It has tips on who could help you
(health-insurance broker), web resources (quotes), and alternatives
to buying a policy on your own.
Anthem
Blue Cross and Blue Shield provides coverage in nine states,
and offers rate quotes for individual health coverage.
As it's always a good idea to shop around,
eHealthInsurance provides you with a way to get quotes, compare
plans, and apply online.
As insurance varies greatly from state to state, HealthInsuranceInfo.net
is a good resource to help understand insurance coverage in your
particular state.

Gym Hours:

Gym use is free. Locker and towel service available for a fee.
Registration: Sign up at PWG any time. You will need a Spring '07
registration sticker on your ID (stop by OSA, Room A37, to get one
if necessary).
