Factiva Click on “Companies and Markets” tab to retrieve daily quotes for the last 2 years, chart up to 10 stocks or funds and compare the nearest ten companies by sales.

Morningstar (CD ROM. Available at the Social Science Library's circulation desk ) Information on mutual funds including investment objectives, return ratings, fund holdings and expenses. (Available to all SOM students via SOM IT or on select workstations in the Social Science Library)

Thomson Research Historical and current SEC filings for domestic and international companies. For international companies click on the Overview tab, then choose WorldScope

Standard & Poor’s Net Advantage data and analysis on 1,500 publicly held U.S. corporations prepared by Standard & Poor’s

ValueLine (CD ROM. Available only in the Social Science Library) Contains company financial including forecasts of a stock price performance relative to other stocks. Provides analysis of over 1,700 individual stocks and over 90 industries and includes historical information. Updated monthly.

Data: Comprehensive Sources
Bloomberg (Available only in the Social Science Library and in B66 at SOM) Use Bloomberg to: track stock, bond, and commodity prices over time (Bloomberg provides intraday, daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual prices as well as graphs and charts), compare two stocks, two bonds, or a stock or bond to an index, find corporate debt and credit ratings, find a public company's financial ratios (Beta, EBIT, EBITDA, Relative Value, Price to Earning) and more. Includes 150 days, 78 weeks, 24 months, 17 years of data.

Compustat Research Insight Available on a dedicated workstation at the Social Science Library and in the SOM Phd. student cluster(restricted access). Includes financial data for over 10,000 North American and 9,000 global companies.For help see: Compustat: The Basics and Financial OZ.

Datastream Available on a dedicated workstation at the Social Science Library and in the SOM Phd. student cluster(restricted access). Datastream provides international economic and financial data in time series format. The data in Datastream are acquired from national governments and banks, the Federal Reserve, the International Monetary Fund, OECD, the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) and other international agencies. Use Datastream to find: commodity prices, equity information, exchange rates, interest rates, stock market indices, futures, options etc.

Global Financial Database A good place to look for historical financial information, contains the following databases: Global Financial Database, Long-term Financial Database, Interest Rate Database, US Daily Stock Market Database, Global Stock Market Database, Total Return Database, and a Dow Jones Industrial Average Intraday Database

Wharton Research Data Service (WRDS) Wharton Research Data Services, or WRDS, is a comprehensive web-based data management system that allows faculty and students to easily retrieve information from a wide variety of financial, economic, and marketing data sources. The Yale subscription includes CRSP, Compustat, NYSE TAQ, and selected files from IRRC, Thomson SDC and Optionmetrics. Available in SSL on a dedicated workstation and remotely for qualified students and faculty.

Analysts’ Reports
InvestextPlus Compiled mainly from brokerage reports, analysts reports and consulting firms, this source contains industry trends, company financials, analysts’ reports, brokerage reports, marketing strategies market share forecasts, industry statistics, country risk and more. Includes some reports back to 1982.

Wall Street Transcript Includes interviews with CEO's and Wall Street analysts.

OneSource Coverage overlaps with Investext and the Wall Street Transcripts but not as deep a history. This resource is easier to use and searches of analysts reports can be combined with other types of publications

Journal and Newspaper Articles
Business Source Complete (EBSCO) Includes the full text of major journals in most management disciplines plus Datamonitor Company Profiles, a resource that includes a SWOT analysis for large companies. The only source for the full text of the Harvard Business Review.

ABI Inform (Proquest) is a major competitor. Factiva Includes the full-text of the WSJ (click here for a deeper backfile), "More than 10,000 sources from 152 countries in 22 languages, including more than 120 continuously updated newswires". Lexis/Nexis Academic Universe is a major competitor.

EconLit contains bibliographic references and some abstracts for journal articles, books, articles in collective volumes and dissertations. It also contains the bibliographic database Abstracts of Working Papers in Economics, produced by Cambridge University Press.

Social Science Citation Index, SCOPUS and Google Scholar can be used to track where an article has been cited.

Working Papers
SSRN Contains copies of the full text of papers for authors who wish to deliver their documents over the internet. Topics covered include finance, accounting, law, marketing, negotiations and more.

Reference Books/ e-books
Oxford Reference Online Includes titles such as a Dictionary of Finance and Banking and the Handbook of International Financial Terms.

Oxford Scholarship Online Contains "the full text of over 1,150 Oxford books in the areas of Economics and Finance, Philosophy, Political Science, and Religion. Specially-commissioned abstracts and keywords are available at book and chapter level, and up to 200 new and recently-published books are added each year." (from oxfordscholarship.com)

Credo Reference Includes several business and finance dictionaries.

ORBIS Choose online books from the Quick Limits box under the the Search box, and search for key words such as capital markets.
