- Create a two-page document with your cover letter on the first
page and your resume on the second page. The resume can be tailored
as you see fit; it does not have to be identical to the resume(s)
you uploaded for the Resume Book.
HINT: At the end of your cover letter, insert a page break
(Control+Enter), then copy and paste your resume. Alternatively,
you can insert a page break at the beginning of your resume document
and compose the cover letter on the blank page that is created.
NOTE: Not all companies require a cover letter, but the
CDO strongly recommends that you submit a cover letter with every
resume.
- Log onto the Career Center (http://cdocic.som.yale.edu) using your
Login ID and password. The Login ID for this system is not identical
to your NetID.
1. IF A SCHEDULE IS CLOSED OR SPLIT, YOU SUBMIT YOUR RESUME AND A COVER LETTER TO THE COMPANY VIA CAREER CENTER (Unless otherwise noted) TO BE CONSIDERED FOR AN INVITATION. To locate the appropriate contact information:
- Click Schedule Summary from the Interviews and Bidding link.
- Click the Job Title link for the position you are interested in applying.
- Click More...in the Contact row.
- From this screen you can have the system auto populate the address information for your cover letter by clickiing Cover Letter Generator - Click Here.
- 2. Once you have created your cover letter and resume in a single Word Document (first page cover letter, second page resume), submit them via the Submit Resume - Send link.
