Resume/Cover Letter Upload Instructions

  • Create a two-page document with your cover letter on the first page and your resume on the second page. The resume can be tailored as you see fit; it does not have to be identical to the resume(s) you uploaded for the Resume Book.

HINT: At the end of your cover letter, insert a page break (Control+Enter), then copy and paste your resume. Alternatively, you can insert a page break at the beginning of your resume document and compose the cover letter on the blank page that is created.

NOTE: Not all companies require a cover letter, but the CDO strongly recommends that you submit a cover letter with every
resume.

  • Log onto the Career Center (http://cdocic.som.yale.edu) using your Login ID and password. The Login ID for this system is not identical to your NetID.

1. IF A SCHEDULE IS CLOSED OR SPLIT, YOU SUBMIT YOUR RESUME AND A COVER LETTER TO THE COMPANY VIA CAREER CENTER (Unless otherwise noted) TO BE CONSIDERED FOR AN INVITATION. To locate the appropriate contact information:

  • Click Schedule Summary from the Interviews and Bidding link.
  • Click the Job Title link for the position you are interested in applying.
  • Click More...in the Contact row.
  • From this screen you can have the system auto populate the address information for your cover letter by clickiing Cover Letter Generator - Click Here.
2. Once you have created your cover letter and resume in a single Word Document (first page cover letter, second page resume), submit them via the Submit Resume - Send link.

If you have any questions, please e-mail the CDO HelpDesk at mailto:cdohelpdesk@yale.edu.
